I have stayed away from NARS Sheer Glow Foundation for the longest time mainly because of the name. In my head glow and oily skin don’t go together. But I was on the hunt for a new foundation because for the first time ever, my skin wasn’t as oily and needed something that wasn’t too mattifying. I wanted the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation that replaced the Sheer Matte but I can’t seem find a good matching color. So I spontaneously decided to get the Sheer Glow and I was not disappointed.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is supposed to ‘’enhances, without masking, your overall natural complexion. The weightless formula hydrates the skin while complexion brightening properties improve skin brightness, radiance, and texture, leaving skin with a luminous, sensual glow’’.
Let’s start with what I like about this. First of all, on me this foundation is in no way sheer or glowy. It’s even matte without using any mattifying primer. I get a finish similar to my Clinique Stay Matte. I don’t even need to use powder. Because of that I wonder if I didn’t get a bad bottle but to be honest I like it that way. Because after one coat I get a medium coverage and when I use this product I don’t even need to color correct my hyperpigmentation. This is when I use a flat brush. If you use a makeup sponge, you will need more. This product goes on the skin perfectly and is easy to blend without looking cakey. When I want a dewy look, I will add some oil or some of my Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation (next FS will be about it).
This foundation also looks very natural and gives a fresh face. It’s very comfortable on the skin and not heavy at all. It doesn't settle into lines or pores. Which is a plus.
The best of it, no need to reapply anything through the day. Except I dab my nose with some powder after a couple of hours like any foundation I own. At the end of the day, 75% of the foundation is still on my face.
So my only issue is that I pay 57$ for a foundation and they can’t even offer a pump with it. I got mine at Sephora and they don’t sell the pump and I don’t have time to go buy one at a NARS counter. And the pump is 7$ which will the pre-tax total to 64$. No thanks. For that price I can get a Dior or Giorgio Armani foundation. You have to be careful because it does transfer.
I got this product in November so I don’t know yet how it will react during hot temperatures and will make an update when I tried in Summer.
Overall, I really like the NARS Sheer Glow foundation even though it’s not glowy on me but more satin. It has a nice consistency and very easy to work it, the coverage is easily buildable and feels great on the skin even after 7-8 hours. This product is little bit pricey but works well on my skin.
