Make Up For Ever came out with 10 new primers a few months ago but didn’t had any plan on buying any until I was scrolling at Sephora and decided to get a sample size of the Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. The sample size is 19$CAD and full size 43$CAD which is kind of pricey for 1oz. They only offered travel size to the Hydrating, Mattifying and Smoothing primers.
The point of these Skin Equalizer primers depending on which one you got is to help with your skin texture and tone. Of course, the mattifying primer is to help control the excess of oil. Usually with products that are supposed to help reduce shine, I never completely trust them because of extreme oily skin. My makeup never last all day but with this primer it really did. It literally aspires all the oil of my face and leave a matte finish.
Because this is really but like really a matte product, I only apply it on my T-Zone where I get oilier. I wouldn’t suggest using another mattifying product with this, as this will painful. On my first try, I used my Murad Oil Control Mattifier and my skin was so tight it hurt.
Since I started using this, my makeup wear have been improve. When I get home my makeup is still intact except from some oiliness on my nose.
I need to verify if it’s the same thing for the standard size, but the tip of the tube is so small that it take forever to get product out and if you squeeze too hard, so much product comes out. Other than that, I will repurchase for sure when this one is finish.
